Lent is a good preparation for Easter, during which we reflect, together with the catechumens who are preparing for their baptism, on how we experience our own baptism. This is so that we can reaffirm our decision to belong to Christ at Easter and renew our baptismal confession. Lent offers us a rich treasure of God's word, which is a light on our life journey. May we be open to it and able to utilize the offered grace of God to transform our hearts.
During the week of March 3rd, we will have an online Bible study on Tuesday. We will continue reading Jesus' Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew. Then on Thursday, we will have a meeting focused on Scripture and the theme. Last time, we began with an analysis of the Holy Mass, and we will continue with that.
During the week of March 10th, there will be an altar server meeting on Monday at 5 PM at the Church of the Holy Family. On Tuesday at 8:30 PM, there will be an online catechism session. On Thursday at 7 PM, there will be a Pastoral Council meeting at the Club. On Friday at 4:45 PM, the preparation for First Holy Communion will continue at the Club. After the Holy Mass on Friday, we will have the Stations of the Cross. On Saturday at 9 AM, we invite willing parishioners to participate in a workday at St. Martin's Church.
During the week of March 17th, there will be an online Bible study on Tuesday at 8:30 PM. Preparation for First Holy Communion continues on Friday at 4:45 PM. After the Holy Mass on Friday, we will pray the Stations of the Cross. Next Sunday (Palm Sunday), the branches will be blessed during the Holy Mass. The Mass will begin at St. Martin's Church in front of the building, and for the Church of the Holy Family, it will be at the parking lot near the hangars.
On Sunday, March 24th, we enter Holy Week. On Tuesday at 7:30 PM, there will be a prayer with songs from Taizé at the Church of the Holy Family. Then at 8:30 PM, there will be an online catechism session. On Thursday, after the Holy Mass in remembrance of the Last Supper, there will be adoration in the Garden of Gethsemane. On Good Friday, there will be the Stations of the Cross at 9 AM at the Church of the Holy Family. At 4 PM, there will be the Commemoration of the Passion of the Lord. We invite you to the Stations of the Cross at Petřín at 9 PM. On Holy Saturday, we invite you to a Prayer with Readings at 9 AM at the Church of the Holy Family. After that, there will be an opportunity for adoration at the Tomb of God. The Easter Vigil will take place at 8:30 PM. On the Feast of the Resurrection of the Lord, the food will be blessed at the end of the Holy Masses. From 5 PM, we invite you to Strahov for the festive Vespers with a procession to the baptismal font.
